Pristina, 12 Aprill - President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, met today with KFOR’s commander, Mayor General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta.

In the meeting, President Thaçi said that “KFOR is among the most respected institutions in Kosovo” and enjoys the trust of all citizens of Kosovo, regardless of ethnicity and religion.

President Thaçi expressed his conviction that Kosovo institutions will continue to work so that “KFOR will have less work to do”, but always aware that the presence of NATO is a guarantee for peace and stability in Kosovo and throughout the Balkans. 

“We will continue to work to make sure that not only NATO will remain in Kosovo, but also Kosovo to be in NATO’ President Thaçi said.

KFOR’s Commander, Mayor General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta congratulated President   Thaçi for his new duty as the head of state.

He said that KFOR has excellent cooperation with Kosovo institutions, the government and the Ministry for the Kosovo Security Forces (KSF).

President Thaçi said Kosovo’s ambitions for the KSF are well known and that there will be continued commitmment for it to meet NATO’s standards, as a multiethnic body with adequate gender representation.
