Prishtina, 2 july - First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, accompanied by Minister of European Integration Bekim Çollaku, met today with Maciej Popowski, Deputy Secretary General for the European External Action Service (EEAS), accompanied by Samuel bogar, Head of EU Office in Prishtina, with whom they discussed EULEXs future and recent developments in the country.
Deputy Prime Minister Thaçi thanked EULEX for its continued commitment in local capacity building in area of the rule of law and stressed that the contribution of the international presence in the rule of law, in the past sixteen years, has produced the best foundation for the establishment of a European-type local sector of justice.
Thaçi said that Kosovo is already consolidated as a state and should be treated as such. Hence, Kosovo is ready to assume all responsibilities of rule of law.
Kosovo is ready to assume all responsibilities in the area of rule of law, Thaçi stressed. Now we can continue to cooperate and coordinate vis-à-vis EULEXs transition, he said.
