KFOR, exercise silver sabre - 2 ended

Pristina - The Distinguished Visitors Day of exercise Silver Sabre 2016-2 took place on 26 November at Camp Vrelo.

The event, presided by COMKFOR, Major General Giovanni Fungo, and directed by DCOMKFOR, Brigadier General Christian Riener, was attended by Ambassadors, Representatives of the international organizations and several Commanding Officers of KFOR, EULEX, KP and KSF units.

Exercise Silver Sabre is a biannual training. KFOR’s main purpose is to ensure that the trained audience is capable of conducting joint and combined operational activities involving Kosovo Police, EULEX, KSF and EMA in the three-layered response concept, well known as 1st, 2nd and 3rd responder concept.

More specifically, the purpose of the exercise was to train coordinated planning and combined conduct of operations. Cooperation between the different units was successfully applied.

The exercise mainly built upon Crowd and Riot Control training, natural disaster relief and handling hazardous material.

Additionally, staff officers practised interoperability, liaison and synchronization between all participating organizations in a table top exercise, organised at Camp Film City.

At the end of the exercise, satisfaction was expressed by all visitors and in particular by the Director of the exercise, Brigadier General Riener, who addressed the trained audience with “mission was accomplished”
