Ferizaj, 26 may - Today KFOR Commander, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, met the Major of Ferizaj/Urosevac Municipality, Mr. Muharrem Svarqa.

During the meeting they discussed the current socio-economic and security situation in Kosovo with a specific focus on the eastern part of the region. Major General Miglietta congratulated Mr. Svarqa for his commitment and goodwill to both maintain and enhance the already very good relationships that exist between the Municipality and KFOR soldiers.

The Major expressed to KFOR Commander his appreciation and gratitude for the impartial and effective posture of KFOR in maintaining a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all the people of Kosovo. “KFOR presence is very important for the citizens and for the stability of the region” stated the Mayor.

During the meeting General Miglietta said that “KFOR is committed to cooperate with the local authorities and International actors in order to improve security”.

General Miglietta periodically meets Kosovo stakeholders as part of KFOR’s comprehensive approach to the mission.
