Pristina, Today, SPRK filed with the Basic Court of Pristina the Ruling to Terminate the Investigation in SPRK case number PPS 24/2015. This is the result of a long, thorough and impartial investigation carried out by a mixed prosecutorial team composed of two prosecutors, one international EULEX SPRK prosecutor and a local SPRK prosecutor. 

The criminal investigation concerned 3 defendants suspected of having committed the criminal offence of Giving Bribes and 1 defendant suspected of having committed the criminal offence of Accepting Bribes.

This case became known to the public in October 2014 upon a series of press articles on alleged corruption within EULEX Mission.

The evidentiary materials collected throughout the investigation prove that the former EULEX Judge Francesco FLORIT has not solicited or accepted any form of bribe, and he has not even accepted a promise of a bribe from the defendants in “Bill Clinton Bombing” and “Baftiu - Triple Murder”, from their families or from their defence counsels.

This criminal investigation did not look into the merits of any court judgement rendered by different judicial panels in “Bill Clinton Bombing” and “Baftiu - Triple Murder” trials. This criminal investigation has been focused on allegations of corruption only. The evidence proves that the former EULEX Judge has not committed any criminal offence.

The evidence also proves that lawyer Mahmut HALIMI, lawyer Azem VLLASI and Afet CENA have not committed the criminal offence of Giving Bribes. 

On the contrary, the evidence brings the suspicion that Flurim ASANI made false criminal reports and then provided false information of a criminal offence. This suspicion is now reported to the competent prosecution office, namely the Basic Prosecution Office of Pristina.
