President Jahjaga stressed the importance of further enhancing Kosovos position in the international arena, with a special emphasis on multilateral diplomacy, namely Kosovos membership in various key international organizations. Jahjaga stressed that Kosovo must remain committed to strengthening an effective foreign service and coordinate its diplomacy with various agencies of the country.
Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, elaborated the current developments in Kosovo with a focus on internal consolidation and strengthening of international subjectivity.
He underlined the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in regards to countrys promotion in the world and added that the strengthening of the state and advancing the integration processes are closely related to the economic development of Kosovo. Veseli said that the economy must be the central part of the commitment of Kosovo institutions.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, said that Kosovo is becoming part of the global alliance and is aiming at transforming itself from an importer of security resources into an exporter of initiatives for dialogue and peace.
Thaçi said that Kosovo intends will be an active participant at large forums of Balkan, European and global diplomacies.
Deputy Prime Minister Thaçi said that Kosovo is an example of good neighborly relations and regional cooperation. In this respect, Kosovo hosted the Western Balkans 6 in the framework of the Berlin Process, launched by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
According to Thaçi, the economy is the key priority of Kosovo institutions, while the singing of the concession of Brezovica and Kosova e Re power plant will bring about 2 billion euros of new investments that could simultaneously boost economic diplomacy.
Thaçi said that after the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), the process of joining NATO is one of Kosovos main priorities. Thaçi stressed Kosovos contribution as part of the global alliance against violent extremism.
