Thaçi invites French entrepreneurs to invest in Kosovo

Paris, 8 june - First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, is on an official visit to Paris, where he first met with Senator Alain Richard, representative of the French government for France-Balkan economic relations.

During talks with Senator Richard on deepening economic cooperation between Kosovo and France, Deputy Prime Minister Thaçi emphasized that the contract of 400 million euros investment in the ski resort of Brezovica is a good sign and an encouragement for other French investors to invest in Kosovo.

\"Kosovo is a small country, but with great potential for economic development and we are reviewing options and ways to make Kosovo more present in France and more attractive for potential French investors,\" Thaçi said.

Deputy Prime Minister Thaçi and Senator Richard also discussed modalities of the absorption of EU funds for the Western Balkans, to make them more accessible for the regional countries, but which will also contribute to the preparations for the Vienna Summit, which is to be held in August.

\"The projects that will be presented at the Vienna Summit will bring benefits to the region in the coming decades,\" Thaçi said.
 
On the other hand, Senator Alain Richard, who served as defense minister of France from 1997 to 2002, expressed his satisfaction with the Brezovica projects and vowed to continue to promote further economic cooperation between France and Balkan countries.
