Pristina, 27 July - Today the European Commission Liaison Office and the Ministry for European Integration introduced the 7th generation of Kosovo\'s Young Cell Scheme scholarship recipients.
A total of 42 Kosovan gradute students will pursue postgraduate studies in selected European Union universities with the EU-funded Young Cell Scheme scholarship, starting in October.
\"The European Commission is committed to continue its support for young professionals who will deepen their knowledge in European legislation and EU affairs in various European universities, and will upon their return help Kosovo on its path towards EU Integration,\" said Khaldoun Sinno, Chargé d\'Affaires at the EC Liaison Office.
The 2010 Young Cell Scheme scholarship recipients will be trained in sector-specific topics such as EU Law, Economics, Energy and Environment, Veterinary and Food Safety and Management of Cultural Heritage.
This scholarship scheme has been successfully implemented since its establishment in 2004 and up to date 177 grants have been awarded.
By supporting this programme, the EU contributes to capacity building of Kosovo institutions. After the completion of their post-graduate studies in various EU universities, students return to work in Kosovos public service bringing back their sector specific expertise.
In its effort to help the Kosovo administration come closer to European standards, the scholarship programme identifies postgraduate courses in line with the Government current needs.
